General
The MPD-18 is a compact MIDI via USB controller with sixteen pads. With this controller, you can easily take on the work of your computer, whether you are a DJ, a producer or a musician. At the heart of the MPD-18 are its familiar sixteen pressure-sensitive MPC pads. With these pads you have three sound banks at your disposal which makes a total of 48 sounds.
The MPD-18 has incorporated some of the technology of the MPC series, such as the Q-link controllers, which allow you to easily control the software parameters by means of assignable buttons. In addition, sixteen configurable presets are included which you can program to your preference. All in all, this MPD-18 is an expressive and intuitive device for studio and live applications.
The AKAI MPD-18 sends MIDI commands via its plug and play USB interface, which get translated by the software. You dont have to install any drivers. The MPD-18 is USB-powered so the included cable is the only cable you will need. Due to the compact casing it is easy to transport.
The MPD-18 is an excellent pad controller which controls your MIDI software and your MIDI hardware. This controller fits every set and adjusts entirely to your software and hardware of choice.
