General
The Alesis DM7X may be a mid-class electronic drum kit, but has a number of note-worthy features that set it apart. Instead of the usual five, this drum kit is equipped with six trigger pads, which are touch-sensitive and feature a rim effect and two zones each. Four cymbal trigger pads, a hi-hat pedal and a bass drum pedal are also included, and an Alesis DM7X drum module – equipped with an intuitive layout, a large number of controls and a backlit LCD display for easy navigation – generates the right sound for each stroke. The DM7X is the ideal electronic drum kit if you’re looking for a professional yet easy to use practice set.
Trigger pads
The trigger pads of the DM7X kit serve various purposes. The set includes five 8-inch dual-zone trigger pads with an advanced design, four of which function as tom pads, while the fifth provides you with a snare. A number of 10-inch single-zone cymbal trigger pads with choke are also provided – two serve as crash cymbals, one as a ride, and one is equipped with a special pedal so it can serve as a hi-hat. To top it all off, a Chain drive Pro X pedal and an extra-quiet Stealth Kick 2 compact trigger pad provide you with a bass drum. The trigger pads can be effortlessly mounted on the included, foldable rack. Unpack, unfold, assemble and you’re good to go!
Alesis DM7X sound module
The Alesis DM7X sound module generates the appropriate sound for each stroke. The module is equipped with 40 ready-to-play kits, both classic and modern, and features an impressive number of 385 drum and cymbal sounds. Sounds can be assigned to the trigger pads per kit, but it is also possible to assign your personal favourites to the individual drum and cymbal pads. The DM7X features a built-in sequencer, a metronome and a versatile performance recorder, as well as a play-along function that enables you to provide the drum parts for sixty different tracks. Connect your CD or MP3 player to the aux input to play along with your favourite music, use the headphone output for quiet practice sessions, or connect a PA or amp to the stereo output to show off your skills. This versatile electronic drum kit provides you with plenty of options!
