Description
General
Emulating the super-Strats that made the eighties, the Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 hard-tail is simply what you get after forty-years’ worth of axe-building experience. Whether classic metal has led you here or not, the resonant character of this solid alder-bodied beast and the classic ST-style silhouette are nothing short of a treat. Add on the sustain-rich Charvel HT6 hard-tail bridge and string-through-body setup and the sound is given a tighter, more ‘stringy’ edge. Meanwhile, the graphite-reinforced neck brings the stability up to modern standards and the 12 to 16 inch compound radius of the ebony fretboard both speeds up the playability and dials the comfort level all the way up to eleven.
Seymour Duncan Humbuckers: Tight Definition
This edition of the Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 has been decked out with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers, slapping a Distortion TB-6 at the bridge and a ’59 SH-1N at the neck. Both of these pups first proved themselves back in the eighties, so you’re 100% assured of satisfying, screaming distortions as well as warm, high-definition cleans. Rein in this throwback dream-team via the fitted three-way selector switch and single volume and tone pots before engaging the push/pull function of the volume pot to split both pickups down the middle and unleash single-coil-style voicing. Covering every detail, this mega-model has even been polished off with a licensed Fender Stratocaster headstock.
