The DAP Audio Stage Amp series consists of four amplifiers that all have a lightweight housing. They are no lightweights when it comes to durability, however: they are perfect for on-the-road use! Another advantage of the Stage Amp series is their stability: even at 20 ohms the amplifiers perform stably!
SMPS amplifier: lightweight and durable
The amplifiers from the Stage Amp series all contain a special power supply. This power supply is called SMPS, which stands for Switch Mode Power Supply. As it can switch at high speed between on and off, the SMPS is more efficient and more light of weight, which makes the amplifiers more lightweight, as well.
DAP Audio Stage Amp 2.2: “starter model” with maximum 3,100 W
The DAP Audio Stage Amp 2.2 is the starter model of the Stage Amp series. It isn’t a real “starter” model, however, as it produces up to 3,100 W at 4 ohms! The bridged mode also offers 2,200 W at 8 ohms, which is enough to power many a subwoofer! The stereo power is also impressive, with 2x 650 W at 8 ohms and 2x 1,500 W at 2 ohms. Clearly, the possibilities are numerous with the Stage Amp 2.2!
