The DAP Audio Stage Amp series consists of four amplifiers that all have a lightweight housing. They are no lightweights when it comes to durability, however: they are perfect for on-the-road use! Another advantage of the Stage Amp series is their stability: even at 20 ohms the amplifiers perform stably!
SMPS amplifier: lightweight and durable
The amplifiers from the Stage Amp series all contain a special power supply. This power supply is called SMPS, which stands for Switch Mode Power Supply. As it can switch at high speed between on and off, the SMPS is more efficient and more light of weight, which makes the amplifiers more lightweight, as well.
DAP Audio Stage Amp 4.0: “middle of the road” with up to 6,000W!
When you first hear the DAP Audio Stage Amp 4.0 you might think that it is the most powerful amplifier from the series. This isnt the case however, the Sage Amp 4.0 is the middle model of the series, despite its maximum power of 6,000 W at 4 ohms in bridged mode! The power in stereo mode is also impressive: 2x 1,200 W at 8 ohms up to even 2x 3,000 W at 2 ohms!
