Description
General
The no-nonsense ESP LTD EC-201 rock and metal machine features a single-cut mahogany body outlined in black-and-white binding; dipped in Satin Black; and loaded with a single humbucker. The ESP Designed LH-150B dual-coil mounted at the bridge already dishes out chunky yet defined sound but, by pulling out the push/pull volume pot, can be split down the middle for some tight, single-coil-style growl and sparkle. Because the aesthetics are just as essential, the pickup has been finished with an Antique Nickel cover, giving this shredder’s best mate a more played-in look. This is the left-handed edition.
The ESP LTD EC-201: Modern Playability
Sticking to the time-honoured single-cut recipe, the ESP LTD EC-201 has been given a 24.75 inch scale length, which teams up with a set of twenty-four extra-jumbo frets and a flat 13.75 inch fretboard radius to support fluid fret-hand acrobatics. The jatoba fretboard has even been roasted, darkening the wood to match the paint-job, all while a more traditional Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece combine to guarantee optimal string-to-body resonance and excellent tuning stability.
