The original Fender Mustang Bass was the last guitar model by the hand of Leo Fender himself, before he left the company in 1965. Fender produced the Mustang Bass until 1981, and again from 2002 onwards. This Pawn Shop Mustang Bass, in 3-colour Sunburst, has the spirit of the original Mustang with a modern twist.
Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Bass: humbucking punch
One of the most notable features of the Mustang is its relatively short scale length of 30 inches (76 cm). Its body is made of alder and features a classic dark Sunburst finish that is beautifully contrasted by the white pearloid pickguard. The maple neck has a C profile and a 24cm fretboard radius. The string-thru-body bridge has adjustable saddles. The Fender Designed Humbucking pickup produces a deep bass tone while eliminating all forms of hum and static. Jazz Bass style volume and tone knobs complete the Pawn Shop Mustang Bass.
Pawn Shop series guitars
Fender’s Pawn Shop collection comprises an ever growing range of unusual guitars and bass guitars that were inspired by striking and rare Fender products from the ’60s and ’70s. Some of these guitars actually saw the light of day but are truly a rare breed these days. Where it comes to sound and build quality, the Pawn Shop models are very much up to date and provide an interesting mixture of various Fender features.
