Like a slick bridge between the past and present, the Fender Vintera II ’50s Series takes a classic Stratocaster and nudges it up to the next level. Built in the Fender factory in Mexico, this high-spec six-string also comes at a fairly affordable price, and what you get in return is vintage looks that stick to timeless Strat tradition, from the body shape and alder build to the high-gloss polyester lacquer, the white single-ply pickguard and the six-screw vintage style bridge and synchronised tremolo assembly. But the treats don’t stop there: the maple fretboard has the fifties throwback feel of a 7.25 inch radius, giving this model the satisfying playability of a much-loved antique.

To guarantee authentic, period-correct output, the Vintera II ’50s Stratocaster has been kitted out with a three-pack of Vintage-Style ’50s Single-Coil pups, so you’re not just getting timeless sound and flexibility, but echoes from the distant past. The neck has also been finished with a ‘Mid ’50s Soft V’ profile, which is exactly what it says it is: a light V shaping along the back of the neck that, coupled with the 7.25 inch radius, slots perfectly in the palm of your fret-hand. As a light modern tweak, and to prevent the strings from getting stuck in the nut grooves, Fender have opted for a synthetic bone nut that’s been specifically designed to up the stability and allow smooth passage while tuning up.
