Description
General
With its roots firmly planted in the sixties and one of the golden ages of the Strat, the Fender Vintera II ’60s Series edition of the Stratocaster brings the authenticity as well as the class. Just like the antique models built sixty years ago, this guitar features a solid alder body, a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard finished with a set of twenty-one Vintage Tall frets. The bridge is even a throwback relic and features six-screws and a synchronised tremolo assembly. And while the specs are high, the price of this Mexican-made Strat is nice and low.
Vintage-Flavoured Output
Keeping things period-correct, the Vintera II ’60s Stratocaster has been loaded out with three Vintage-Style ’60s Single-Coil Strat pickups that do exactly what they were designed to do: deliver the immediately familiar, endlessly-variable sound that helped pen countless classic albums. The glassy trebles are framed by rich lows and prominent yet rounded mids to complete the balance, and everything is defined with warmth, whether you add some distortion or not. As a light modern tweak, and to prevent the strings from getting stuck in the nut grooves, Fender have opted for a synthetic bone nut that’s been specifically designed to up the stability and allow smooth passage while tuning up. Basically, if you’re seeking the unparalleled look, sound and feel of a sixties-era Strat but want something a touch more stable, then this Vintera II ’60s edition will definitely do it for you.
