This is the Ibanez AEG70 electro-acoustic. The now-classic Ibanez AEG body shaping lays down a balanced foundation whether amplified or unplugged, and the ultra-playable Comfort Grip neck has been carved from nyatoh to add a rich mid-layer to the tone, while the walnut bridge and fretboard add an extra dose of warmth. Meanwhile, the fuss-free preamp control panel simply provides a volume pot to tweak the output level and a Shape pot which acts like a natural EQ to crank up or pull back the amplified body – from deep and fat to bright and thin. All that’s left is an LCD screen for the built-in tuner. Wrapped up in outstanding playability and clean aesthetics, this model is definitely a worthy step-up for any intermediate gigging guitarist.
