Description
General
Bearing many of the same deluxe features as the ever-popular Japanese AZ models, the Ibanez AZS2200 solid-body offers guitarists a supreme TE-style electric guitar with contemporary playability, and comes topped with a slice of flamed maple. Part of the high-grade Prestige Series, every inch of this model has been built in Japan, so you’re not only treated to the smooth and natural feel of the oiled, oval-C profile neck but the fluid finish of the Prestige fret-edge treatment. And, since the jumbo frets have been made from stainless-steel, you’re assured of an extra-long life of pure playing pleasure.
The Ibanez AZS2200: S-Tech Wood Roasted Maple Neck & Rounded TE-Body
The one-piece maple neck and 12-inch radius fretboard have undergone the specialised S-Tech roasting treatment to reduce the level of moisture in the wood, taking it down to that of a fully matured neck to increase the stability. The neck has then been securely bolted onto the smoothly rounded TE-style ash body, setting up this model with a solid sonic foundation framed by a full mid-range, clear high-range, and rich resonance. The Ibanez AZS2200 comes complete with a hardshell case.
A Surprising Stack of SH-Sound & Two Fresh Settings
For access to a surprising stack of tonal profiles, the AZS2200 has been fitted with a carefully selected set of Seymour Duncan pickups mounted in an SH configuration. At the neck, a Magic Touch mini-humbucker weaves cream-filled fullness while keeping things tight, and the Alnico II Pro single-coil at the bridge delivers that unmistakable TE-style twang. Besides the familiar volume and tone pot and three-way selector switch, a very special Alter switch has been provided, splitting the humbucker and adding two super-fresh serial combinations alongside the usual three combos. Pushing the boat even further out and firming up the tuning, is a Gotoh T1802 bridge complete with tremolo arm, and a set of MG-T locking tuners.
