Defying all cliches, Ibanez have dropped a unique range of their very own headless electric guitars, each built to provide power alongside speed and the ultimate in playing comfort. As such, this model has an incredibly lightweight nyatoh body topped with a slice of poplar burl, which combines with a three-piece roasted maple-and-bubinga neck with a Wizard-C profile, and that’s only the beginning. This refined upstart comes complete with a form-fitting gig bag.
The Yamaha Q52PB: An Eye for Detail
The depth of thought that’s gone into the design and build of the Q52PB isn’t just evident in the roasted birdseye maple fretboard, or the set of 24 Jescar EVO Gold frets and luminescent side dots – as soon as your eye hits the smart Mono-Tune bridge, you have a pretty fair idea of what you’ve got on your hands. This bridge is able to maintain uber-accurate intonation, even in alternative tunings, and a chunk has even been taken out of the base of the body to make way for the tuners. Meanwhile, the absent headstock has been replaced with a custom string lock which, when compared to many other headless models, can actually take a standard set of strings.

The two mounted humbuckers have been designed exclusively to suit the needs of the Q-Series guitars. Combined, they unleash outstanding definition that gives presence to every note and across the entire frequency spectrum, supporting more technical playing techniques including tapping and fingerstyle. Add on the dyna-MIX10 system and flip the fitted Alter Switch to expand the sonic range even further to a total of no less than ten different settings, spanning everything from light and sparkling cleans to thick and tight distortions.
