Equipped with a near-paper-thin body, a 25 inch to 25.5 inch scale length and fanned frets, the Ibanez SML721 is one of the most progressive six-strings to leave the Axe Design Lab. The fresh finish is another welcome detail, while the twenty-four EVOgold frets have been produced by none-other-than Jescar and every last one has been carefully placed to ensure the most accurate intonation going as well as stunningly balanced string tension, giving the bass strings a fully controlled and familiar feel, while the treble strings can be fretted with the lightest touch.

To give the playability even more speed, this model comes fitted out with a super-thin Wizard neck and the rosewood fretboard has been given an ultra-flat 15.75 inch radius. While it is incredibly thin, the solid nayatoh body lays down a full and resonant acoustic foundation and every edge has been rounded off for maximised comfort. All of this supports the two passive Q58 alnico humbuckers with plenty of depth, so you get immediately warm and natural output that can be varied at will via a five-way switch and the Alter switch of the installed dyna-MIX10 system, giving you no less than nine voicings to play with.
