The KSR Amplification Ceres is a high-gain preamp that comes loaded with three channels that harness the sound of KSR’s Ares, Artemis and Colossus guitar amps. Not only that, this extensive stompbox offers many of the same functions, like Mode, Feel and Bright switches, plus an active 3-band EQ so you can sculpt the sound of the rhythm and lead channels in minute detail. A more than excellent, extremely versatile option for gigging guitarists and session musicians, the Ceres has been fully made and developed in-house in Cincinnati (USA) – just like the rest of KSR Amplification’s range.

The Ceres: Effortless to Integrate

The two distortion channels are furnished with the same switches and controls and, while they work the same way, they each sound different. The Rhythm channel is a tad tighter and more aggressive than the Lead channel, whereas the Lead channel offers more compression and smooth, thick core sound. Designed as both a preamp that can be set up for the return of your guitar amp effects loop and a preamp that can boost the first few pedals in your chain, the Ceres also features a clean bypass mode which activates the tone and volume controls of the clean channel – a mode that’s particularly suited for direct power amp control. As a thoughtful touch, the KSR Ceres comes finished with a backlit logo that doubles as a status indicator to let you know which bypass setting is active.
