The CDJ 850 is one of Pioneer’s middle-segment multimedia players. This fully Rekordbox-compatible CD player offers functionality that is also featured by the CDJ-900 and the CDJ-2000. The CDJ-850 is fitted with Pioneer’s famous 206mm wide jog wheel.The screen at the top offers an extensive display with all the track information you need, such as the wave form, which tells you how a track progresses. The Tag List option enables you to effortlessly create and use playlists and tags. Those tags can be used again in Rekordbox for a later set. The CDJ-850 is Pioneer’s first player that allows you to adjust the Tag List without changing the order.The Pioneer CDJ-850 is compatible with a large number of different media. CDs can still be used, of course, but digital storage media are also an option, thanks to the player’s USB connector. External hard drives and USB sticks can be easily connected and the player can read music files in WAV, AIFF, MP3 or AAC format.Are you a fan of software such as NI Traktor or Serato? Thanks to its MIDI-compatibility and its internal 24-bit audio interface (sound card), the CDJ-850 works very well with such software. Due to its HID protocol, your CD player never sends out too much information, as is the case with conventional MIDI. Consequently, your PC is always able to process the MIDI signals, without crashing.

Over the years, burnt CDs have become a very common sight. Even though we advise against the use of burnt CDs (on the road), we would like to offer some advice in order to reduce errors to a minimum. All CD players in our web store can read CD-R discs. We recommend that you use high-quality discs, however, as low-quality discs may still lead to reading errors. Always burn your CDs at a low speed and do not buy spindle packs of 50 or more discs, as these are usually of a questionable quality. Some players can read CD-RW discs; in that case, the term Multi-read mechanism is mentioned in the product specifications.
