This is a serious moving head at an extremely friendly price. It has eight rotating (interchangeable) gobos, eight colours plus white that can be replaced and used to create split colours, a rotating prism, mechanical dimmer, mechanical shutter, DMX focus, gobo shake function, large LCD display for settings and information and ten or fourteen DMX channels, to name a few things.
Thanks to the different functions that this head offers you can always create a spectacular and refreshing show. By combining certain effects (like rotating gobo and split colours), you can create great effects on the dance floor. When you take the speed out of the colour changes and gobo rotation (as opposed to the movements), you can create a tranquil-looking lighting show that still moves in time with the music. For climactic moments in the music, you can use the stroboscope function, which has a speed of 1 to 10 Hz. As it is separately mounted, you can also strobe other colours than white, which looks great, especially if these heads are suspended with multiple units in a truss or larger disco.
The powerful MSD-250 lamp provides the required light yield, which is substantial. A light yield of 18,000 lux at 1 metre, means that you can even see the beams when there is only a little bit of mist. If you use the functions of this moving head correctly, you can create great space-filling effects.
