If you are working with a great deal of conventional lighting and you want to control most of it via separate channels, you usually won’t have enough channels on a conventional lighting table. This Showmaster 48 is equipped with 48 channels, however, allowing you to neatly light complete stages with frontlighting, backlighting and special light effects, especially if you put a few of the fixtures on the same channel, so that everything fits neatly in the lighting table.
The Showmaster 48 offers space to a total of 96 scenes or chases that can each contain 999 steps or a loop with 23,976 steps. The chases that you enter into the controller can automatically be activated with an internal sound signal, that is introduced via a built-in microphone, or externally via a line signal. You can also adjust the rate and fade time for fluid transitions in the light.
A tap sync function ensures that chases run in synchronicity with the music, if you simply tap out the beat of the music on this button. An assignable blind function comes in handy if you are using stage blinders or ACLs. With just one press of the button you can surprise your audience with a nice light effect that especially comes into its own in the climax of the music. A separate section allows you to connect your smoke machine to this controller with an IEC remote connection.
The MIDI in/out function lets you trigger the controller externally via a MIDI controller, which can come in handy if you are managing the lighting for your small band yourself and you have to adjust the lighting with just a few button presses. The controller’s MIDI out lets you connect this controller to your favourite piece of MIDI-supported lighting controller software, so that this controller can also be used for intelligent lighting if you assign certain faders to specific functions.
