Part of the Sigma Guitars SG Series, the SDM-SG5 offers the grand feel and sound of an all-solid dreadnought decked out in a polished gloss finish. The specially-selected Sitka spruce soundboard and the mahogany back and sides of the D-14 Fret body are a classic recipe for enhanced resonance and a remarkably rich acoustic foundation sound full of sweet, woody trebles, which in this case are accurately captured by the L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC preamp and can be effortlessly refined via the fitted volume and tone control.

The SDM-SG5: Low-Profile Neck and Nice-and-Short Scale Length

Besides a classic body shape and tight finish, the Sigma SDM-SG5 boasts a low-profile neck that combines with a relatively short 24.75-inch scale length for increased playing comfort and a slightly lower string tension. Add that to the traditional styling, the stable, self-lubricating Grover tuners and the included SSC-D soft case, and you’ve got everything you could ever want from a trusty stage partner.
