In 2013, Tama has expanded their Iron Cobra series with a more attractively priced line of bass drum pedals. This HP600DB Iron Cobra 600 is part of that mid-range line. A little brother to the 900 series, with the same robust construction, extremely smooth feel and huge level of adjustability. The HP600DB has a double chain-drive and is equipped with Tama’s unique reversible Duo Glide cam. With a flick of the wrist, you can switch between the powerful Power Glide feel to a more even Rolling Glide feel and back.

The idea behind the Iron Cobra series is that the pedals should be useful in any setting. Whether you play jazz or heavy metal, the pedal should adapt to your playing style. One of the ways in which the Tama HP600DB makes this a reality is the Vari-Pitch beater holder. This allows you to adjust the beater and the footboard angle to you desired position. Furthermore, you can adjust the spring tension so that it provides the perfect resistance. And you can even adjust the action on the beater with Tama’s Duo Glide cam. In the Power Glide mode it provides progressive action during the beater stroke, while the Rolling Glide mode gives you a smooth, consistent feel.
Other features
The Tama HP600DB Iron Cobra 600 Duo Glide also has a redesigned footboard hinge. This hinge is more durable and offers greater precision. To further reduce friction between the various moving parts, the connection between the axis and the spring has been equipped with the aptly named Speedo-Ring, that has a high-quality ball bearing built-in. Tama’s Spring Tight tension system will prevent the spring from rotating, so you won’t experience any loss of power and the feel of the pedal will remain consistent! Attach the HP600DB to your bass drum with the Para-Clamp, which rotates with the angle of your bass drum so that your pedal stays flat on the floor. For maximal protection on the road, the Iron Cobra 600 is delivered with a hardshell carrying case.
