Masterfully built, Tsakalis AudioWorks present the second edition of their Zipper optical compression pedal. While this offering is still based on the classic Urei LA3A, you can expect even more definition and a big fat helping of extra headroom. Stuck through this stompbox, your original guitar sound remains uncoloured thanks to the high-end-studio-style operation and silent performance. Besides the Level and Compression control pots, a mini-switch is supplied for shifting between two comp variations, so with the softer 4:1 compressor you can set up your sound for most genres and most playing styles, while the harder 10:1 setting gives you slammed-style compression for more pointed and ultra-defined percussive rhythms and solos. Set the Comp pot anywhere up to a quarter of its range, and this true-bypass pedal can even serve as a clean boost or maximiser.
