Decked out in Hot Rod-style, this Vintage Joe Doe Series single-cut solid-body embodies the fable of rebel twins Bernie and Ernie Angelo who, as legend has it, roamed the streets of Pittsburg in the fifties and shared a love of rock-and-roll, strong language, dirty tricks and illegal drag races. After moving to Southern California in 1967, it’s said the twins became surf-rock pioneers and ran a popular car mod shop. While the truth is somewhere out there, this unique electric guitar definitely backs up the story and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity, a matching guitar case and some case candy.

The Joe Doe Hot Rod: Go Faster!

Spruced up with Go Faster pinstripes, the single cutaway mahogany body combines with a mahogany neck that features a custom Hot Rod Maniacs decal, resulting in a feel that’s as fast as any souped-up, street-driven race car from the 1950s. In terms of tone, the Vintage Joe Doe Hot Rod has been loaded with a WOCHB bridge humbucker and a double-coiled WOCHN neck pickup – both of which were supplied by Wilkinson and offers ample sonic torque and horsepower. Polished off with a fine-tunable GTB wrapover bridge and a set of vintage WJ15 tuners, this fast-paced axe can hit breakneck speeds without dropping out of tune.
