Lay down unique, auto-varied atmospherics and ambience against a backdrop of dark reverb, modulation and the stuttering chaos of glitched effects. Everything is made possible by the dual DSP architecture, both with individual feedback paths. Scroll through the set of five built-in programs to find your preferred starting point and dial in your own custom touch via the seven-pot control section and tap-tempo footswitch. Just like all Walrus Audio offerings, the elegantly surreal Fable has been built in the USA.

The Walrus Audio Fable: Dark Magic

So what does Walrus Audio mean by ‘granular’? In tech-speak, this refers to digital microsample processing, where snippet-sized samples (grains) are read from a delay buffer. These grains can then be manipulated to conjure twisted, warped and softly stuttering effects. Imagine playing the grains back at double or half-speed to shift the pitch or simply reversing them. The approach is both powerful and complex, but thanks to that bank of pre-configured programs, it’s actually pretty easy to delve into the dark sonic magic this pedal is able to weave.
